ITT Technical Institute

ITT Technical Institute is a private college system focused on technology-oriented programs, with seven schools of study.

This Design/Build tenant finish consisted of remodeling an existing office space in Overland Park, Kansas to be used as an educational facility for the Institute.

The two-story, 100,000-square-foot building was constructed in 2001 in the College Boulevard/South Johnson County submarket. It is part of the 2.7 million-square-foot Rosana Square.

The area of work involved approximately 30% of the first floor in the 2-story building.  We reused all of the existing roof-top equipment, but demoed the existing duct and installed new duct that better suited the revised design.

Also, due to the high heat loads of added computers and occupants, supplemental cooling was added to most of the future classroom spaces by means of eleven, ceiling cassette-style split systems.

Our entire scope of work had to be performed in a 4 week time frame, from start to finish.  However, while this job was bid as a plan and spec project, once on site it was determined that the actual space between the ceiling and the existing structure did not accommodate the planned design.

Environmental Mechanical redesigned the project in 3 days to avoid any adverse impact on the construction schedule, another example of our proven ability to react quickly and resolve problems.
