University of Central Missouri, Art Center HVAC Upgrades

Environmental Mechanical was awarded this design/build project in November 2010 by the University of Central Missouri, located in Warrensburg, Missouri.
The project scope consisted of design and installation of HVAC upgrades needed to meet the ventilation requirements for the Art Accreditation Certification.
The University of Central Missouri's Department of Art & Design is housed in three locations on campus: the Art Center, on the south side of campus, which houses the departmental office, core drawing and design classes and three gallery spaces; the Grinstead Building which houses courses in printmaking, interior design, and graphic design, along with computer labs; and the Ceramics Art Annex, east of the Art Center.
Work on this specific project involved the five rooms in the Art Center and three rooms in the Grinstead Building, including a dust collection system upgrade in the woodshop area and an exhaust ventilation upgrade in the welding area.
In addition, EMC designed and installed a makeup air system for the welding lab, an exhaust system for the welding shop and a dust collection system from the inside to outside in the sculpting lab area to reduce noise and dust in the building.
